Timber construction in fast motion: 22 seconds

Distinguished sustainability

Temporary sports hall at the University of Zurich

The project emerged from an overall performance competition with Hector Egger Gesamtdienstleistung AG from Langenthal. The project impresses on the one hand with its architectural qualities and on the other hand with its pronounced sustainability. The project consists largely of a pure wooden construction, only the strip foundations and the necessary retaining walls are made of reinforced concrete.
The project consists of three wings:

  • Sports hall wing with the actual sports hall and Multifunctional room and cardio/fitness area.

  • Access wing with the entrances, staircase and cloakrooms/showers/toilet.

  • Technical wing with technical installations and storage rooms.
